These days, you hear a lot of talks and awareness on taking care of our mental & emotional well-being. But the one thing that we always overlook is to take care of our soul.
Not many can understand the idea of soul, but as Muslims, we believe that every human being has a soul (ar-Ruh), and that our soul separates from us when we sleep (which is why we believe that we’re “dead” when we’re sleeping) and when we die.
The soul, is apart of us, as much as our mental and emotions, and by taking care of the soul, the rest of our well-being will be taken care of. Hungry souls are the reason how many non-Muslims found Islam, when they’re looking for that calm and peacefulness within them.
Ramadhan is the BEST time to feed your soul. What does our soul like to feed on? Some examples include:
1 - Uttering and listening to Dzikir
2- Reading and listening to the Quran
3- Doing good deeds (i.e charity)
4- Talking to Allah in your prayers, honestly open your heart out to Him
I hope this Ramadhan, we focus on feeding our souls with what it craves for.
May Allah ease and accept our Ibadah, and may we feel closest to Allah this Ramadhan, insyaAllah.
Lotsa , Erin @erinazahara
]]>Known as the fruit of the desert, dates are one of the most commonly known fruits mentioned within the Holy Quran and are a part of the sunnah as well.
“And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.” [Surah Maryam: 25]
Ajwa date is one of the most known dates grown exclusively in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The colors varies from dark brown to almost black colour
The dates are soft and tend to be dried as well.
Ajwa dates are considered holy among the Muslims as it was mentioned in the hadiths of Rasullullah pbuh.
Mostly commonly consumed with Arabic coffee, Ajwa dates are a great source of fibre that benefits the digestive system. This date variety is one of the best ingredients for muscle development, brain health, and vitality.
It is advisable to consume 2 to 3 dates on a daily basis early in the morning or in between meals. Ajwa dates or even dhibs can also be utilised in baking as it makes for a good sugar substitute.
Interesting fact about Ajwa tree dates:
۞ Anas bin Malik narrated (R.A):
“The Messenger of Allah would break the fast with fresh dates before performing Salat. If there were no fresh dates then (he would break the fast) with dried dates, and if there were no dried dates then he would take a few sips of water.”

2) Siapakah yang boleh untuk berkorban? Mereka terdiri daripada:-
a) Orang Islam
b) Merdeka
c) Baligh (dewasa)
d) Berakal
e) Mampu Apa yang dimaksudkan dengan mampu ialah;
3) Apakah hukum melaksanakan ibadah korban?
5) Apakah kelebihan melaksanakan ibadah korban?
9) Bilakah waktu penyembelihan korban?
[Riwayat Muslim (1318), Abu Daud (2809) & Al Tirmizi (1502)]
Pendapat Al Syafi’eyyah membenarkannya.
[Hadis Riwayat Thabrani]

Our Jewels of Medina are always here for you to purchase! From Ajwa to Safawi – we’ve got you!

Team Zaahara masih kecil tapi visi mereka besar.
Tapi, misi Zaahara jelas.
Untuk jadi antara top e-commerce brand in the world in the Islamic Space.
That’s for sure.
Well guys…
Jika you terbaca post ni, marilah sama-sama join team Zaahara.
Tiada modal. Tiada paksaan.
Saja enjoy buat duit tepi.
Eh, lupa pulak nak bagi tahu.
Jual apa?
Telekung Zaahara memang terkenal dikalangan wanita berkerjaya.
Tudung Sports Zaahara – pun terkenal dikalangan wanita yang baru nak bersukan.
Jadi, tunggu apa lagi.
Ada social media. Ada whatsapp…Mudah saja.
Inilah peluang yang jarang-jarang berlaku.
Anda share, kami buat selebihnya.
Jom, sama-sama kita buat Tindakan.
Rugilah asyik tak berani ambik Tindakan. Asyik tengok orang lain bergaya time raya, meh kita raya sakan sikit.
Salam dan selamat maju jaya.

Do you remember the first time you got your very first telekung? I remember mine so vividly, like it happened only yesterday.
The year was 2007 – The supposed hot afternoon was greeted by a sudden weep from the sky. The thunder’s mighty rumble scared all the children of the neighbourhood, leaving them running for shelter.
My sisters and I, included. Our parents stood by the doorway, gesturing for us to come inside and hide from the now dark blue sky. Minutes passed by when plates of our favourite fried mushrooms were placed on the coffee table to comfort us.
Before we even got the chance to wolf down the oily battered mushrooms, our attention was focused on some colourful strawberries that was laid on my mom's lap.
Not just any strawberries. They were telekung covered with colourful strawberries. Mine was in hundred shades of blue – The prettiest gal I’ve ever laid eyes on (besides my mom, of course) I kid you not, the minute I saw my blue strawberry telekung felt like we were the only person (+ telekung) in the room.
I was enchanted! I brought her everywhere with me! I just couldn’t wait for the 5 prayers to put on my telekung. It felt so comforting, just like home. Now that I’m much older, I gave her away to my younger cousin to take my place and take care of her (or maybe just the other way around!)
If you're a sucker for those laid-back style, we've got something just for you! She’s perfect for your casual day out or even when you’re at home having your me-time! How great is that right? Read more to find out what we're talking about!

]]>Sometimes, all we need is just a hijab that can be easily used without the need to worry about our normal lifestyle.
A robust hijab that doesn’t really reflect the sedentary lifestyle.
If we are to go back to 1970’s when Nike came out with their shoes, it was meant to compliment the brands who have been established back then such as Puma and Adidas.
Their aim was simple – To make everyone run and creates a running lifestyle.
With that, we at Zaahara believe that a hijab that can finally gives a hope and creates the lifestyle for us to move around with more confidence.
A hijab that brings us the joy and to make it even sweeter, it won’t make others to judge us.
You get what we mean?
Imagine you have not been active and has the desire to lose weight.
A pro hijab such as Nike’s or even Naelofa’s will not be suitable.
Why?
These kinds of hijab are meant for higher level performance which ours are not meant for that.
We, we are for the basic entry and it’s a day-to-day kind hijab where once you tried, you will love it.
The name of our hijab is Nafas Active Hijab.
The name itself is picked purposely due to the concept that we introduce which is:
This Nafas Active Hijab is meant to be used for all sorts of activities and look will not be compromised.
That’s for sure.
We have tried it for our morning walks, afternoon walk, yoga, hangout at café’s with friends, visiting houses and perhaps groceries shopping!
It’s meant for us! The always on-the-go Moms and ladies who needs something practical for our head.
Get it now while available and we can assure you, you will like it and perhaps you will also share with your friends and families once you have gotten yourself one.
Guess what?
You can buy it in a package of 3 and thus save RM 26.
Amazing right?
We hope this Nafas Active Hijab can be the catalyst to your lifestyle.
That’s our aim.
Put on, show up.
All that it takes to change the image in 2021.
]]>Having your own travelling prayer mat makes life so much easier. You don't have to worry to find a clean place to pray and feeling uncomfortable. It is easy to carry, portable and it can also be used as a floor mat in case you just want to sit and enjoy the view where you are located at.
For travellers or those who are always on the go, the prayer mat will be very convenient at places like airport, shopping malls, terminals or even places where there are no musolla or (surau and mosque) especially in the western countries where Islam is minority.
You can purchase your travellers prayer mat at Zaahara.com or Etsy.
It also comes in build in compass as sometimes apps doesn't work.

4 sebab mengapa anda perlu miliki travel telekung
Selagi anda mempunyai beg tangan bersaiz sederhana, telekung travel pasti sesuai anpa masalah.
The solat safe bag for men comprise of sejadah (prayer mat), kain pelikat (sarong), and face mask. This will ensure that the man can perform their prayer in the masjid. There are rules in Malaysia whereby if you don't bring your own sejadah and face mask, you will not be allowed to go to the masjid to perform your prayer especially your Friday prayer.
This is an option for the ladies. However, there are some who chose Telekung Sofia as that prayer set already comprise of Telekung Travel and also face sejadah.
You may consider getting all these prayer kits for yourself and also to be given as a gift.

]]>I've been struggling to be honest. I noticed that I became more and more aunty-looking (i.e makcik) and more selekeh-looking. And it didn't help with my self-confidence. To add on to it, after being a mom of two little kids, I sometimes feel like I've lost my identity. I rant in the morning when I can't find the right attire to wear, sometimes even cry (during those months, you know). It was really hard to find the right modest attire that suits me - just simple but nice looking modest attire, and most importantly comfy and practical!

Meaning: "Together with the birth of a baby, there is a aqiqah. Therefore, shed akikah blood on his behalf and remove dirt and feces from it”.
Riwayat al-Bukhari (2839)
Sunnah to perform aqiqah on the seventh day of the baby's birth in addition to giving a good name and also shaving the baby's hair. This is based on the words of the Prophet SAW from :الْغُلاَمُ مُرْتَهَنٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ يُذْبَحُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ السَّابِعِ وَيُسَمَّى وَيُحْلَقُ رَأْسُهُ
Meaning: “Whoever is blessed with a child and wants to perform worship for him, then perform aqiqah worship for a boy with two goats and for a girl with a goat ”.
Riwayat Abu Daud (1522)
Regarding the number of goats that need to be confirmed, for baby boys, the sunnah is by slaughtering 2 goats while for baby girls is by slaughtering 1 goat. This is based on the words of the Prophet SAW who said:مَنْ وُلِدَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ فَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَنْسُكَ عَنْهُ فَلْيَنْسُكْ عَنِ الْغُلاَمِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافِئَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ
Meaning : “Whoever is blessed with a child and wants to perform worship for him, then perform aqiqah worship for a boy with two goats and for a girl with a goat ”.
Riwayat Abu Daud (2842)
Based on the hadith above, aqiqah for a boy is two goats while for a girl it is a goat. This is the best order for a person if he wants to perform aqiqah worship. What are you waiting for?
Let's perform Qurban or Aqiqah in Mecca with Zaahara! Prices for a goat start at RM 420 ++. The sacrificial meat will be distributed to the poor and a certificate of digital participation (softcopy) will also be given. Get more information by sending WhatsApp to the link below:

#1 Travel to explore new horizons (16:14, 35:12, 45:12);
Allah is the King who creates everything that you can see and can’t see. By travelling, we can be exposed to various cultures and creatures. This in return will open us to new horizons.
#2 Travel to learn from visiting new places (22:46, 31:31);
When you travel, you can visit new places although you can see the same place in the internet, it will still be a different feeling. The senses will be triggered once you are at the new place.
Wring this blog as of now remind us how we miss travelling so much. (thanks to Covid-19, we are now not able to travels freely).
#3 Travel for recreation (10:22, 5:96, 30:46);
Sometimes, all you need is just a simple travel for recreation. Imagine you have been busy with work schedule all year round, and you got the chance to travel for recreation. How will you feel and appreciate the moment?
#4 Travel to learn from the past (6:11, 3:137, 16:36, 27:69, 30:41-43).
There’s a lot of things that has happened throughout the age of creation from Adam a.s until now. There are things which are mentioned in the Quran and there are things not mentioned.
One of the main reason people travel is because they would like to see what has happened in the past based on the historical event.
People who love history and site visiting will always love to travel that contain historical values.
#5 Travel for trade and commerce (17:66, 2:164, 62:10);
In the ayah of 62:10, Allah has clearly mentioned that after prayer, you may disperse for rezeki. It shows clearly that one of the reasons for travelling (short or long) is for rezeki (trade and commerce). There is abundance of rezeki every where in this world and we just need to seek for it.

Ladies, did you know that we first launched Sofia back in 2015? So that's like 5 years ago. We named it Sofia based on this girl here, who was one of our earliest fans back then. She's a lady pilot! - the kinda girl Sofia was made for - for the busy on-the-go Muslimah! Do read on to find out more about her!
1. First of all, tell us about yourself. What do u do, are you married? with kids?
Assalamualaikum. My name is Sofia Sani, I was born from a mixed parentage - my father is Chinese and my mother is Malay. Me and my 5 other siblings grew up in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. We come from a pretty big family. My parents have 20 grandchildren - 2 of which are mine.
I am currently a Captain with Malindo Air and have been flying commercially for 12 years. Started off flying the ATR72 with Firefly and then now, the Boeing 737.
2. How did you first find out about Zaahara, and about Telekung Sofia.
About 5 years back, my dear friend Sabrina tagged me on Zaahara's IG post, a contest to name a travelling telekung.
3. Telekung Sofia is named after you. What’s the story here? Care to share?
The instagram post by Zaahara was a contest to name a travelling telekung. I thought since it was a travelling telekung and well, I am one traveller who is looking for a good travelling telekung anyway, why not just name it Sofia.
I remember everyone who posted suggestions had meanings behind the names they gave and all I could think of was 'Sofia' in Dan Brown's Da Vincci Code means 'Wisdom'.
And I thought it would be perfect. Having a travelling telekung is a wise decision. Pre Covid, everybody travels - holidays, office, shopping malls - having a travelling telekung is beyond wise.
So, I literally commented, 'Sofia je lah senang'.
Alhamdulillah! 'Sofia' was picked as the winner and I clearly remembered winning my first travelling telekung and I picked purple. I took it everywhere with me - work, travel, and yes shopping malls!
4. How many Telekung Sofia do you have? And how has it evolved from the first batch of Sofia?
Personally I have 2, the purple one that I won and a black Sofia 2.0. I've also bought quite a few as presents, a good travelling telekung is not easy to find. I have not tried Sofia 3.0 as my Sofia 2.0 is still in great condition.
I love the upgrade. The material is thicker, the size is slightly bigger, the stitching is better and the fit is perfect.
I love that even though it's bigger, it fits in my flight bag nicely.
5. Tell us 3 things you like about Telekung Sofia
Allah has given the Muslim community an opportunity to meet at certain times such as the 5 daily prayers, Friday prayers and also the two Eids.
Malaysia is blessed to have been introduced to Islam since the 12th Century by the Indian traders.
Looking back at the history, we are listing 14 old mosques in Malaysia that has wonderful history. However, although Islam came in the 12th Century, the oldest mosque recorded in Malaysia is the Masjid Kampung Laut, Kelantan which was built in the 18th Century.
1. Masjid Kampung Laut, Kelantan
2. Masjid Kampung Hulu Melaka
3. Ubudiah Mosque, Perak
4. Masjid Abidin, Terengganu
6. Masjid Syiekh Ismail, Selangor
7. Masjid Jamek Seremban, negeri Sembilan
8. Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque, Johore - 1892 and 1900

With a lot of misconception about Islam especially in the West, we believe that there is always a ways for us to reach out to each other. With doa and willingness to be part of the Ummah, we will all be stronger within time.
Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Amina. I am Dutch and 52 years old. I am a converted muslim since about 25 years.
No one else in my family has become Muslim.
I have 3 (grown) children Girls and 3 grandchildren. Only one of them is currently living at home.
Are you originally from Asia (Pakistan, India, Bangladesh) or any parts of the world.
I have been living all my live in the Netherlands, my mother is still alive. I am not originated from Asia or other parts of the world. I do have Muslim friends here from Singapore and some African countries.
How do you lead your life as a Muslim there? Is it easy for you to perform your prayers anywhere you go?
In the Netherlands we can live pretty easy, there are a lot of Mosques and shops where we can buy all we need. Food, clothes etc.
For Muslim men it is easier to perform prayers outside the home. since the men and women are separated in most of our mosques, it is not always easy for women to perform prayers outside of the home.
How do you cope with Islamophobia in Netherland? Or there is nothing to worry.
Due to politics there is a change noticeable in the way Muslims are perceived. That is not always a good thing unfortunately. Because of a lot of negative attention in the media we can feel that people are not happy with us.
Islamophobia is also in the Netherlands and has to do with the way the media is portraying the things that are done in the world in the name of Islam.
How do you shop for Islamic products in Netherlands?
I personally shop mostly online, this is more convenient for me as I am working fulltime, Alhamdulilah.
What surah/ ayat in Quran that you’d like to share and why do you choose this.
I have a lot of Surah that I like, but Surah As shams and Sorah As-Sharh are one of my favorites.
Surah As shams
Surah As Shars
What would you advise to the Muslim ladies across other regions?
My advice for other women is to seek find sisters who are like minded to yourself, so you can exchange ideas and let your heart be at ease if you feel like it.
Keep yourself surrounded by people who have your best interest at heart. May Allah guide you all and put love for Islam in your hearts, in sha Allah.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Amina Lambregts

Souka is one of the best Muslim-friendly bakeries in KL that provide any Muslims to eat and dine with peace of mind. Why? Because they have a small mini surau / musolla that can cater for one Muslim person to pray at each time. Having a mini surau will definitely be a plus point since the customers doesn’t need to rush for prayer.
Besides the surau, the café is really good with their desert. They are known for their Red Velvet, Banofee and also cheese cakes. They have pastries and coffee that ranges from RM 5 to RM 12 respectively.
They have been around in Subang Jaya from 2015 and till now they are still there serving customers locally and also from elsewhere. The café does make you feel like you are at home and you will definitely feel the need to come again.
It’s not too hipster like other café’s but it does serve its purpose of existence.
Good desert. Good coffee. Good ambience. Affordable price.
Hey, that’s all you need right?

Allah has mentioned about Al-Fatihah in the Quran where it is recited many times. As we all know that Surah Al-Fatihah is mandatory in every prayer, have we ever wondered how important it is?
Perhaps really ponder the meaning of the surah?
To answer this, let us look at a few more ayah in the Quran as a reflection of where we are in our prayer:
[So woe to those who pray] Mā’ūn:4
[But who are heedless of their prayer] Mā’ūn:5
Based on the sayings and interpretation of the scholars, meaning of these ayah can be:
Elsewhere in the Qur`ān, Allah subḥāneh wa ta’āla adds to this description of heedlessness in ṣalāh: when they get up to pray they get up lazily. (4:142)
After saying this, it is now our responsibility to ponder and memorise the Al-Fatihah meaning so that we can improve our solah and perhaps attain khusyuk in our future solat.
It will take numerous hours for us to attain to the highest level but with Allah's grace, InsyaAllah we can attain that faster. It depends how serious we are in pursuing khusyukness in our solah.
Al-Fatihah. Let's see the meaning one by one.
– Always start your affairs with the name of Allah
– His mercy is the first attribute used to introduce Allah to you

]]>This is an old picture of 1965 Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) boys who are seen in kain pelikat or also known as sarong.
They are from Class 68, Form two boys and picture was taken at the old 'Surau' behind Big School, the Malay College Kuala Kangsar. They had their Quran reading class with an Ustaz who is in the middle of the picture.
Looking back at the old time, most of the Quran lessons were held at the old Surau and half the time was spent getting there and back to class.
Many of them had to continue on reading the Quran when they were placed in MCKK in Form One. Thus, many of the boys khatam (finished/ graduated) their Quran at that old Surau.
Fast forward, these young boys are now aged 69 and some of the notable names that we can hereby mentioned are Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa, Dato' Kamarudin bin Jaafar and many more.
Kain pelikat or known as sarong has always been a part of MCKK boys and most of them still wears it till today. If you ask the boys, we believe there are many pelikat jokes to be shared. Perhaps, there are stories that you wouldn't want to hear!!!
Anyways, you might check out Zaahara's kain pelikat and get it for these boys! They will remember the good old days with their friends for sure!
