Our Journey – From Bulky to Beautiful

Zaahara was founded in 2015 by engineer-turned-entrepreneur Erina Ellias, who recognized a major travel pain point during a trip in 2012:

Traditional telekungs were bulky, impractical, and difficult to carry — especially for Muslim women on the move.

With an engineer’s mindset and a mother’s heart, Erina transformed frustration into innovation. She began importing telekungs, but soon developed Zaahara’s first original product — lightweight prayerwear that folded compactly without compromising comfort.

This breakthrough became Marisa On-The-Go Prayerwear (OTG) — a compact telekung set that has traveled across the world and enabled solat at 30,000 feet and even on mountain slopes.

Marisa OTG became more than a product — it started a movement of portable spirituality.

From one woman’s mission, Zaahara grew into a trusted name for telekung travel and portable sejadahs — loved by over 30,000 Muslims worldwide and distributed through:
