10 activities to be done during ramadhan

The month of Ramadan is regarded as a holy month by Muslims around the world. This is when Muslims would fast from dawn until dusk to actually feel how poor people who cannot afford to eat would feel like. Basically, it is a lesson for all Muslims that we should be grateful and thankful to Allah S.W.T. for all that we have in this life.

Ramadan is such a pure month. What can Muslims do during Ramadan? Obviously, Muslims should try their best to get closer to their one and only creator. This is the time where Muslims should increase their imans and faith by performing good deeds and religious acts. But, believe it or not, that is not the only thing Muslims can do during Ramadan. Yup, there are a lot of innocent and meaningful activities a Muslim can do.

Today I will tell you the 10 things to do during Ramadan. My list will be divided into two. The first half of the list are worldly activities and the second half are activities for the hereafter.

I know most of you would like to prepare yourselves for Eid Fitri. And by preparing, I actually mean shopping! Shopping would be the first thing that comes into your minds when the month of Ramadan arrives.

I know it is bad to think that way, you should always focus more on Ramadan but it does not hurt to prepare early. Besides, if you know your limit and not shop overly then I think it is fine. You can shop for clothes, jewelries, handbags, shoes and many more during Ramadan. So, when Eid Fitri arrives, you will be prepared!

Besides shopping, you can also catch up on your reading. Ever bought books and never having the time to read them? Well the month of Ramadan would be the perfect time for you to laze about on your bed and read the books you have been wanting to read for so long.

Another thing you can do during Ramadan is to get in-touch with the world. What better way to do that than to search online for world news. Get to know of all the things that is occurring in the world. Not only will you get to spread these news to your family and friends, but you also gain knowledge while fasting during Ramadan.

Is your house a mess? Does your house need some cleaning up? Now is the time. During Ramadan, whenever you are free, you can spring clean your house. Tidy up a little to make your house look sparkly and clean for Eid Fitr. You don’t want your guest to say bad things about your house when they come over, do you? I didn’t think so.

You can start working out and living a healthy life during Ramadan. Just because you are fasting, doesn’t mean you can’t work out. So, head on over to the nearest gym and build your body. You do wanna look good in your new clothes during Eid Fitri, right?

Okay, enough about the worldly activities. Time to get serious. Let me talk to you about the activities that every Muslim should do in Ramadan. Firstly, reading the Quran. They say that you will get more rewards if you read the Quran in the month of Ramadan compared to other months. One page a day is good enough if you ask me.

Secondly, perform the tarawih prayers. Ramadan is the only time you get to pray tarawih. Grab this chance to perform tarawih while you can. You don’t know when it is your time to return to Allah S.W.T., so just do it!

Furthermore, you can donate Qurans and telekungs for the less fortunate. That way you would not just get rewarded for giving back to society but you would also be rewarded every time a person reads the Quran or wears the telekung you donated to them.

The last 10 nights of Ramadan is extra special because any one of those nights might be the night of laylatul qadar. Muslims should perform qiamullail if they want to achieve laylatul qadar. This is one activity one can do during Ramadan and any other months as well.

Last but not least, you have to pay your zakat and perform your 5 daily prayers. This is one way to ensure that you do pay an amount of your income to the less fortunate. Zakat is a must. Praying is a must. What is the point of fasting for a whole month but not paying zakat and not praying the 5 daily prayers? It is just a waste.
