Late Night Munchies

Late Night Munchies

Posted by ZAAHARA .COM on

It is just one of those nights where the hunger bug kicks in and your stomach starts to create a fuss. For some, it comes once in a while but for others (like me), the hunger strikes late at night almost all the time. But wait, before you head out to the nearest 24 hours McDonalds or KFC, you have other options too. And I mean other options apart from your local mamak. Although,t he mamak is like a safety blanket : always there for you and always making you comfortable (and full). So the next time that you are struck with the late night munchies and you’re not really feeling the whole mama vibe : then check out these places.

  1. The Port

The Port is basically a restaurant/cafe that uses refurbished shipping containers as the general structure of their hub. The Port is a unique little restaurant located in Damansara Utara that gives you a little bit of everything. The food that they serve is not only delicious but you have many options and a whole lot of it. The portion sizes here are so generous and perfect for satisfying our late night cravings. The Port has two floors, and a huge screen for showing any of the latest football matches or sport matches. Making it a perfect place to chill as well.

Jalan Lebuh Bandar Utama, Bandar Utama, 47800 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Fri-Sat : 8am to 4am

Sun-Thurs : 7am to 2am

  1. Hayaki Cafe

Hayaki cafe features a variety of Kelantanese food. Now this is not your typical go-to cuisine or type of food that you might gravitate to however it needs to be on your go-to list. Especially if you are craving for a big meal in the late hours of the night. This cafe serves your local dishes in a homemade style. It is as if you had a grandmother from Kelatan and she was cooking for you. This is what this cafe serves : good ol comfort food in big portions. So bring a friend along with you if you’re not prepared to devour the dishes alone. The entire menu is just oh-so-yummy.

No. 1, Jln SS21/37, Damansara Uptown, 47400 Petaling Jaya

Open everyday for 24 hours

  1. Souled Out

Souled Out has three outlets scattered around Kuala Lumpur but the most famous of all their locations is the one in Bangsar South. It does it all. From traditional to modern dishes. But I recommend that you try their take on our Malaysia classics from the tandoori, to curry to nasi lemak. It is not your average dish but it does have a little flare dusted on to it. And just as the name implies it to be, you can taste the soul in the food. The curries have a little extra zing to it, not a flavour per say but an actual warmth that you feel. It’s all very nostalgic.

No. 7 G-11&12, Nexus Bangsar South, Jalan Kerinchi, Bangsar South, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

  1. Donutes Coffee & Bakery

So, we all have those late night munchies for something sweet. Like a slice of cake or a buttery croissant or a donut. And lucky for us, there is a cafe that does this! Donutes Coffee and Bakery specialise in their pastries, cakes and sweet goodies through all hours of the day. Yes, a cafe that is opened 24 hours. So whatever you need to do, wether it is a late night sweet snack or a late night work session or a after-hours chill session with friends : you can do it here at Donutes Coffee & Bakery. The cozy and spacious environment makes it homey and welcoming for anyone who is pulling an all-nighter.
