Haven’t you ever watched the news, see all the terror and destruction happening around you, and you start feeling restless, you ask yourself “What can I do to help?” The answer to that question is by joining a non-governmental organization (NGO).
In case you do not know what an NGO is, it is an organization that is independent of government, is non-profit and the members are voluntary citizens. There are numerous NGOs in Malaysia catering for various needs for you to choose from.
1. Small Changes Malaysia
Small Changes Malaysia believe in making small changes by providing volunteering network and empowerment platform that lead to big differences.
“Small Changes, Big Differences” is a belief that one does not need to be grandeur in action to make an impact, which sometimes will lead to inaction due to the feeling of smallness by oneself therefore believing they will be insignificant. We believe in tapping the skills of people and channeling them to be useful. This has consequently lead to the desire in doing good for the Malaysian society as a whole.
Their projects involve a lot of youths volunteering their time and energy to empower those less unfortunate through knowledge and guidance and motivation. They are known for organizing camps schools and kampung in rural areas.
2. Muslim Volunteers Malaysia
Muslim Volunteers Malaysia is one of the biggest known association amongst students with 1753 registered volunteers to date. They are known for connecting big companies to sponsor for those less-unfortunate and have also worked with big organizations too.
2. MyKasih
Among the many is MyKasih which helps all Malaysians who are underprivileged regardless of race, status and religion. They offer help in the form of providing food, health awareness and financial literacy programmes, children's education, and skills training programmes.
By developing a subsidy scheme with ePetrol’s cashless payment system, this NGO endeavours to break the cycle of poverty by educating the unfortunate youth.
3. Incitement
Incitement is a social business founded in 2011 and has since spread to 46 countries. They develop and implement sustainable development programmes together with consumer brands and are a trusted government partner of the Ministry of Finance of Malaysia. Incitement is the company behind the platform Inpactor, a social network for Corporate Social Responsibility for brands, causes, and volunteers."
4. WWF Malaysia
WWF-Malaysia (World Wide Fund for Nature) is an environmental organization that started in 1972 with only two people in it. This day, there are about 200 people working and more than 90 projects going on currently involving research, education and public awareness programmes as well as other things.
If you are a nature lover, then this NGO is perfect for you as it aims to sustain renewable natural resources, conserve the biological diversity and reduce pollution.
5. Amnesty International Malaysia
People who wish for more rights as citizens, Amnesty International Malaysia is a great way to abolish the death penalty, preventing human rights abuses, battling discrimination and encouraging equality. This NGO also promotes freedom of expression and the freedom to organize a group to create a human right.
6. Do Something Good
Do Something Good is an all-round volunteering network. It hosts multiple events in just one day, such as tutoring disadvantaged children, farm volunteer work and fundraising activities. With the quote by William Shakespeare, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away” on its home page, you can even create an event simply by registering on the website.
7. Free Tree Society
Taking a simpler idea with small efforts and making it into something colossal is truly magnificent. Free Tree Society gives free plants to the public on environmental holidays to promote a greener world. What they do is collect seeds, sprout them, nurture them and then give them away with the hopes that people will appreciate plants more.
8. Fugee School
Fugee School helps refugee children in Malaysia. The founder of this organization started out by providing Math and English tuition to four Somali children, the word spread and many more refugee children asked to be educated. Thus, this NGO was formed and now it has 160 students.
9. EcoKnights
Established in 2005, EcoKnights focusses on the environment. It helps communities be more aware of the environment, has environmental education programmes, partnership programmes and promotes green entrepreneurship.
EcoKnights is famous for hosting the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival which has film screenings, workshops and talks on environmental topics like pollution, climate change and waste management.
10. EPIC Homes
EPIC Homes is an NGO providing safe and sustainable housing for the poor, mainly the Orang Asli, by building the houses themselves with their own bare hands. The housing will hopefully improve the health, learning and livelihood of the underprivileged families. As members, efforts for this NGO do not only build the houses, but also build friendships with the Orang Asli.
After joining and contributing for an NGO, you will be rewarded with the self-satisfaction of doing a good deed. So do not hesitate to do so. As mentioned before, there are a plethora of NGOs you can offer your much needed and appreciated services to. These are only a few from the hundreds you can find.

However, I have tried my best to explain that we are suffering of the Brutal operation carried against M.Q.M ( known as M.Q.M London ) since long and we are in great danger our lives are unsafe, we are without proper Shelter, we do not have any career and my 03 kids are not going to school due to fear and fear of Kidnapping as there is No future for us in Pakistan.
Due to these brutal operations, I become sick and become patient of High Sugar level and of BP,
My wife becomes the patient of the High BP and got regular Headache & tension.

My native City is Karachi as I was born here in 12-3-1961. My mother tongue is Urdu.
I was the great supporter of the political party M.Q.M ( Muthahida Quami Movement) and of the leader named Mr. Altaf Hussein, since 1997. I took part in the Election campaign of 1997 with enthusiasm. I use to take part in demonstrations and I use to raise Slogans and use to attend meetings at 90 Azizabad, Head Quarter of M.Q.M at Karachi.
After these Elections, I become the Organizer in the year 2000 and it was my responsibility to make arrangements of the Demonstration and of the meetings such as Tents, Chairs, Mic and Loud speakers, Floor coverings, Stage, Sofas on Stage, Fans, Water Coolers and Flags etc.
In the year 2002, I become the Secretary of the Jacob Lines unit (NA 245), Karachi.
*After the 2005 Municipality Election, one day , I was going from Jail Road to towards Hasan Squire and at the Jail corner there was Barrier installed by the Rangers they stopped me and started checking me from Head to toe and started beating me with slaps and punches and started abusing me saying you M.Q.M supporters taking Bhatas ( Force contribution ) from simple people and you distribute chits to shops and factories for the Bhatas ( Force contribution ) , They were blaming me but I excused and tried to assure them by saying Believe me By God it is not me I am just an Organizer. I have touched their feet and beg for pardon me and then they let me go and order that keep your mouth shut. Believe me I was so frightened, I was about to die and each part of my body was in pain that I could not get out of the house at Gulshan-e-Iqbal for 2 weeks.
The Govt. Operation against M.Q.M was in full swing, catching and killing supporters of M.Q.M putting in detention centers at unknown locations.
In order to hide from these operations, I use to change and shift from one place to another.
In doing so, I quit from the Job ( I am Rent-a-Car Driver ) and I do not have the permanent shelter, I do not have the proper food and medicines.
*In the same year 2005, opposition Party squad named M.Q.M Haqqiqi has attacked me and has opened fire at the Gulistan-e-Johar More. God saved my life. My situation was so miserable and condition was so deteriorating.
*In 18th. April 2006, which is the darkest day of my life when I was staying at Sindhi Hotel, in the mid night at 2.30am 03 persons of height about 6 feet with big mustaches wearing white shalwar kaneez (National dress) has entered into my house and they covered my eyes and taken me in their Jeep to unknown destination.
During driving they started torcher me, beating me, kicking me, punching me, snatching my hairs, asking give names of the leaders who issues Chits of Bhatas ( Force Contribution ) and from where M.Q.M gets the funding, what is the link with India and they are asking where your Leaders are hidden. Asked me, where you have kept the Ammunition. I was crying, begging for Pardon, I was about to die as I have got inhalation problem and blood is coming out from my teeth. They tear my shirt and taken away my Cell Phone.
I think, after driving Jeep about 1 and half hour they put me down from the Jeep and suddenly hit my head with Gun back, forcefully that I went into unconsciousness.
When I came into consciousness I stand up with pain at each part of my body and have great pain on my head and blood was coming out of it but I started walking and scratching myself. I have seen vehicles light coming from far away so I decided to move towards it. It was very difficult to walk due to Neil Bushes and stones. However, I reached nearby the road and then I come to know that it is Super Highway then I took lift from a Truck driver he dropped me at Shorab Goth Round About. From there I took lift of the Bike and reached Buffer Zone at my colleague house.
I got the medical treatment, my heart and body was shivering with fear I am unable to explain that horrible night, even I have got sleeping and eating problems. There is no contact with our M.Q.M supporters as majority of them have gone underground. This was the Turing point in my life.
*I have then decided to leave Karachi and moved to Lahore for the sake of safe life in Aug. 2006.
I was living at Thokar Niaz Baig – Lahore and started driving Rent-a-Car and earning around Rs.18000 – Rs.20000 per month. I have made friendship with the neighbors as they were humble and good in nature. One lady used to provide details of girls for marriage, so I have selected one and finally I got married in 7th. Nov. 2007, with simplicity at her home.
*In 2010 there was murder of the M.Q.M Leader Dr. Imran Farooq in London. Here some terrorist entered into my house asking for the connection with murder of Dr. Imran Farooq,
They have looted our costly things, broken all furniture, Turned down our bed, broken Cupboard and started shouting on us, started abusing us and said if we got any evidence we will kill you and will kill your children. They have taken away my Cell Phone and order shut your mouth.
We were so frightened then next day we shifted to Town Ship.
*in 2013 our neighbors reported that few people were asking about you and your family they keep an eye on you and keep watching you but we do not know who are they but seems staff of the Security Agency. It stated giving me mental torcher and tension how they came to this place and what they want since I have left M.Q.M London and I do not have any connection with M.Q.M London.
I have started receiving calls from many different numbers threatening my family and abusing me and saying that we will kidnap your children. It disturbed my job and my life.
*In 2015, I was driving on the College Road going towards Akbar Chowk I saw one Bike with two persons sitting on it, were following me I then increased the speed of my car and turned into a small street at one point and then they attacked me and started shooting from far away. Thanks to God Who saved me.
I was so disturbed and frightened. It is about my nervous to be breakdown. I was thinking what to do where to go, so I have decided to shift to the Raiwind City.
Here also problem started after sometimes as the nearby shopkeepers informed me that some persons came and inquired about you and your family. They are coming here for the investigation on regular basis. Who are they and what they want. I told them we are not aware but my family frightened and we have lift our children from school.
*In May 2019, one night we came late as we returned from my Mother in law’s home, what we have seen that main Door lock was broken, furniture was broken, Cupboard was open and all things are on floor, the bed is over turned, Glassware is broken. Somebody came and has searched our house. No one thing is placed at its right place.
We came out of the house and spent whole night on Footpath in a danger that they might come again or perhaps shoot us.
Next day we shifted to the house of my Colleague ( Driver of Rent-a-Car) at Nawaz More, Bhagrian, who has given save shelter and food and arranged Milk for my kids.
He is so kind and said stay with us and do not worry, I will take care and nobody can come to my house.
He suggested that you and your family life is in danger and there is No career and No future of your kids. You all are living in fear I doubt one day they will kill you.
So, it is better you leave Pakistan, I accepted his advice.
He asked for the Passports and arranged Malaysian Visas and the Air Tickets from Islamabad at his own. I have sold the Gold Ornaments of my Wife of worth 6 tolas and came to Malaysia, safe Heaven for us.
NOTE: I demand from the authorities of UNHCR to please provide safety, shelter and Work in Malaysia or in any other Country. It is for sure that we shall never go back to Pakistan as our lives are in danger. Please secure us to provide Asylum.
We have three Enemies such as : 1. Govt. Agencies 2. Opposition Party M.Q.M Haqqiqi
3. Opposition Party M.Q.M Pakistan.
We cannot face all of them. We all become sick and have tension and fear in hearts.
