Weekend Getaways Idea

Posted by on

The stress and burdens of life can really get to us. And sometimes all we need is some time to ourselves or with our loved ones, away from all the hustle and bustle of the country. This is inevitable. We all crave a good vacation. And sometimes, it doesn’t need to be a long vacation (but we would not mind a longer vacation), just something enough to get you relaxed and serene enough to come back fresher and stronger.

With all of that being said, not all of us have an endless realm of cash floating about in our bank accounts. So, we can’t really afford going overseas to Rome or Paris or London or Johannesburg. But why look so far away when Malaysia has its very own little getaways that can take your blues away.

Sekeping Serendah, Selangor

Sekeping Serendah is a Malaysian favourite. It is known for being embedded and emulsified in the forest. Therefore you can literally wake up to the sounds of birds. The natural light that comes into these big floor to ceiling windows can actually brighten up your day. It is a secluded little resort that can help you escape for the stresses of the city. The glass house is a unique design that was intended to give the guests the feeling of living in a tree house. What is even better about the glass house, is the price for the stay of the glass house. It isn’t too extravagant like what you would get at some fancy resort. It is affordable, especially if you split the prices with your guests. A definite must-see.

The Dusun, Seremban

Who knew that Seremban has such a gem like the Dusun resort. The Dusun is just about the same concept as Sekeping Serendah, except without that glass house effect. However, with this place : you get a more traditional feel and approach. The houses are inspired by traditional kampung houses and their structures : the stilt houses. Even decorated inside the rooms are quaint and cutesy furniture. And to make it all worth while is the TWO infinity pools that overlook mother nature and the grandness of Allah (s.w.t). If that’s not worth checking out, I don’t know what is.

The Happy 8, Ipoh

Do you ever feel like you want to be Mowgli from the Jungle Book? Or Tarzan? Well, the Happy 8 in Ipoh gives you a good feel of where they had to live. The Happy 8 infuses a modern style of interior design with traditional details. Not only that, the rooms that they provide are basically adult treehouses. The rooms here are very artsy and abstract but still beautiful nonetheless. You feel emerged in between trees and plants and water. It’s a great and affordable staycation.

The Danna, Langkawi

If you want to splurge a little and get a little more hype on your Instagram photos then you should definitely check out The Danna in Langkawi. Langkawi on its own is a beautiful island of Malaysia. With golden sandy beaches and baby blue waters. Not to mention the incredible tax-free chocolate (yay!). Langkawi is a great destination. But if you want to one-up your regular Langkawi visit : then the Dusun hotel is where it is at. Only 11km from the airport, they have scenic views and great hospitality. You can’t not take a billion and one pictures when you’re here.
